The team claim a deserved 2-0 triumph at Mestalla
Valencia CF took a very important 2-0 victory against CD Leganés on Matchday 23 in LALIGA EA Sports, thanks to goals from Cristhian Mosquera and Mouctar Diakhaby.
The first half was very competitive and in the first few minutes Diego López had a chance that almost surprised the visitors. Valencia CF increased their approaches, and in the 24th minute made a move in which Javi Guerra shot just outside the post.
After half an hour, Cristhian Mosquera opened the scoring by finishing off a ball in from André Almeida in the six-yard box, after a quick move forward courtesy of Luis Rioja.
Valencia CF continued to press forward, and with five minutes to go before the break Diakhaby headed into the net to score. The strike to make it 2-0 was celebrated with a standing ovation from Mestalla, in recognition of the defender's long road back from injury.
A chip attempt from José Luís Gayà and Diego López's powerful shot from the edge of the area threatened to increase the lead, against a Leganés side that had their best chance of the afternoon from Neyou -off a solo move in the 85th minute.
With their latest win, Valencia CF move up a place in the table. Their next fixture is the regional derby against Villarreal CF next Saturday night.
